HOW TO PLAY : One player is made Father-ngoo (ngoo = snake) and another one is made Mother-ngoo. Father-ngoo and Mother-ngoo stand facing each other, the rest are the Mother ngoo’s youngsters. They stand in line holding on their respective friends’ waists to make one long snake. The game begins with the conversations between the two parties. It goes like this:
Father-ngoo : “ Oh, Mother-ngoo”
Mother-ngoo does not respond but the youngsters answer for her in unison : ‘Yes’
Father-ngoo : “Where did you get your drinking water?” Mother-ngoo : “ From the well of SOKE” (well of grief)
Youngsters : “YOKE (let’s sway) to and fro” Then the Mother-ngoo and
her youngsters sway from side to side extending the paces between themselves, their hands remain holding on their partners’s waists. Father-ngoo : “ Oh, Mother-ngoo”
Mother-ngoo : “Yes” Father-ngoo : “Where did you get your drinking water?” Mother-ngoo : “ From the well of SAI” (SAI = sand)
Youngsters : “ YAI (let’s sway) to and fro” They again sway in harmony. Father-ngoo : “Where did you get your drinking water?”
Mother-ngoo : “From the well of HIN” (HIN = stone)
Youngsters : “BIN (let’s fly) to and fro”They sway in flying gesture. Their hands remain
holding on their partners.
Father-ngoo : “How many pots of rice did you cook?” Mother-ngoo : “(Answers in the same number of her youngsters plus herself), say-10 pots”
Father-ngoo : “Can I have one?” Youngsters : “No!” Father-ngoo : “How many bowls of sauce did you prepare?”
Mother-ngoo : “___(same number) 10 bowls” Father-ngoo : “Can I have one?” Youngsters : “No!”
Father-ngoo : “How many macherels did you fry?” Mother-ngoo : “10 mackerels” Father-ngoo : “Can I have one?”
Youngsters : “No!” Father-ngoo : “I shall prey on your head, your tail, your belly and all over of yours”
Mother-ngoo : “You can prey from tail and up”
