Ao Nang

ao nang beach thailand packagetour traveler vacation hotel cheaphotel tour packagetourInitially called Ao Phra Nang ("Princess Bay") although nowadays known by its short form: Ao Nang... It is the most 'Westernized' beach in Krabi, initially a backpacker’s favorite destination, which turned into moderate and up market destination due to existence of an airport nearby. Ao Nang is Krabi's alive and colorful tourist destinations. It has the calming atmosphere of a small town, the alluring beach the contemporary good feelings of home, and the friendliness that makes Thailand unique. The town alone is small; a 30-minute walk bring visitors from one place to the other.

By road, Ao Nang is 20 minutes from Krabi Town or Klong Muang Beach and a minute or two to Noppharat Thara Beach. By the famous Railay Beach is also nearby. Select a direction and hand it over to your waterborne taxi. A watery world of excitements waits all tourists.

If tourist is searching for bustling night scenery that comprises partying until dawn, then Ao Nang is not certainly the ideal destination to visit but if a mellow twinkly is your thing then you have come to the right place. Shops and restaurants overshadow Ao Nang’s major promenade. The places to find nightlife scene are narrow passages along the main road.

Additionally, up the Airport Road tourists will catch a glimpse of eight bamboo and thatch restaurant/bars on a corner of a soi which were established in late 2009. This is a mellow domain in comparisons to Phuket or Bangkok and again, tourist can party and eat here or other way around.

Most of them hold your interest with extravagant styles such as Airplane or the Cave Bar, few others just with pretty girls. Perhaps the famous bar here is the Rocky Bar, a place that provides live music, commonly with a lead guitarist and bassist accompanied by backing tapes and a drum machine.

If a tourist is interested in getting around Ao Nang, and want to go to one of the islands (Koh Poda, Koh Gai, and Ko Tup are just away from the shoreline) or find a new unique beach, the place to go is long tail boat taxi service at the south end of Ao Nang Beach. Be reminded, particularly on return to Ao Nang, there may be 30 empty boats wobbling in the sea, but not one will start until it is financially beneficial. Unluckily, the only solution is waiting for extra passengers or bargaining a price for a low-settlement trip, which is literally purchasing the empty seats.
